We provide service twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week, and we protect a total of 64 square miles. In addition to responding to requests for assistance, our firefighters are also involved in public education, stand-by duties requiring first aid or fire watches, and maintenance.

The City of Greeley has adopted the 2021 International Fire Code which becomes effective January 1, 2023. The Greeley Fire Department will continue to use the 2018 International Fire Code for the remainder of 2022. Beginning January 1, 2023, the Greeley Fire Department will begin conducting plan reviews and inspections under the 2021 International Fire Code.

Ride-along Application

Please complete the ride along form in its entirety and email it along with your background results from the Colorado Bureau of Investigations to GFD@greeleygov.com. You will be contacted to finalize the scheduling of your ride-along after your request has been approved. No request will be approved without proof of background.

Please note:

  • A three-week notice is required for all requests;
  • We can't fulfill non-emergency requests during the week of the Greeley Stampede, (typically the last week of June through July 4);
  • We can't fulfill non-emergency requests during Fire Prevention week, (typically the second week of October);
  • Please understand that your visit may be interrupted by staff responding to an emergency call;
  • You will receive a response to your request(s) within two weeks.

Events that we make every effort to attend:

  • School visits;
  • Career fairs;
  • Medical stand-by for events;
  • Safety talks;
  • Station tours;
  • Fund raisers for non-profits.

Events we do not attend:

  • Private parties;
  • Events to bring customers in to your business or grand openings.
