Raw Water Dedication

All new development in Greeley must dedicate raw water to the City. The Greeley Water & Sewer Board, through the Water Resource Division staff, sets the requirements for how much and which water rights may be used by the City to accommodate growth. Current water dedication requirements can be found here: Raw Water Dedication March 2023.

Water dedication requirements may be met through the dedication of certain water shares, by dedicating raw water credits associated with the Terry Ranch Water Supply Project, or through a cash-in-lieu payment. Currently accepted water sources and their yields as well as the current cash-in-lieu rate can be found here: Raw Water Firm Yields March 2023.

Single Family Residential Development

New single-family residential development requires three acre-feet of raw water per acre. Large lots over one acre in size may dedicate reduced amounts of water with the completion of a water service agreement based on the property’s expected annual use.

Commercial & Multifamily Residential Development

Commercial developments must supply water rights contingent on calculations based on the type of business, the square footage of the business area, and the square footage and type of landscaping. Multi-family developments are based on the number of units and landscaping. This establishes a service commitment that outlines the amount of water required for the project on an annual basis.
