Raw Water Dedication

Water in its natural state, prior to any treatment.

The developers provide raw water in the form of water rights, cash-in-lieu, or acceptable raw water credits so Greeley's water treatment plants will have water to process to meet the added demand from new customers.

A developer should contact Water & Sewer Development Review with proposed development plans to receive relevant ordinances and restrictions and to provide information on how the raw water demand will be met for new developments.

• Greeley Loveland System (Greeley- Loveland, Lake Loveland or Seven Lakes)
• Colorado Big Thompson (C-BT)
• Greeley Irrigation Company (GIC or Ditch No.3) – For Non-Potable Use Only

Water rights purchased from other farms that are not directly associated with proposed developments cannot be accepted unless they are Colorado-Big Thompson (C-BT) units.

Developments that do not have water rights associated may make a cash-in-lieu of raw water rights payment or dedicate raw water credits associated with the Terry Ranch water supply project. The cash-in-lieu rate is established by the Water and Sewer Board and is based on the average cost of all the water currently available for use by the City of Greeley plus storage cost.

Any water dedication being made using water shares is due at final plat. Water dedication using cash-in-lieu or credits from the Terry Ranch project are due with the appropriate building permits.

Once the water dedication requirements for a property have been met, that dedication credit is tied to the property and may not be transferred. If the property is replatted the credit(s) from the property or properties being replatted may be reallocated by the new plat.
